Spray Paint

The metallic spray paint is great for armor. I used this in my Thor cosplay. Make sure to spray Modge Podge on the material before and after though!

You’ll be using spray paint for a lot of the DIY cosplays. I find it really easy to use on any number of accessories, from armor to earrings. There might be better paint out there to use on specific items, but spray paint is my go-to.

Where to get Spray Paint:

  • Michael’s
  • Walmart
  • Home Depot
  • Lowes
  • Target
  • eBay
  • Amazon

Again, I recommend buying a decent supply because you’ll be using it a lot. Amazon sells their cans a couple bucks cheaper than Wal-Mart, so it’s a great place to start. I like to look at the reviews to see which is the best brand to go with or to get a better idea of the different styles (matte, glossy, metallic, etc).

I used a TON of paint for my Joker Harley Quinn cosplay. The shirt, the cuffs, and even the shorts are all spray painted. There’s also different kinds of spray paint that are be better for shoes (search “Shoe Color Spray”).
