You may remember Mykie’s makeup work from last year when her shoot of Harley Quinn tattooing the Joker’s back was mistaken as a leaked photo from the then upcoming film Suicide Squad.

I will never forget waking up to a whole slough of online articles and videos discussing the validity of the 'leaked picture of the new Harley Quinn' last year when the first Suicide Squad pictures dropped. One of my favorite comments I still get is "woah, it was you and Chase behind that?!" The internet is a fun crazy place ๐Ÿ˜‚ We are SO excited to be seeing Suicide Squad tomorrow and "meeting" the REAL new Harley Quinn. I've put the link for the Harley Quinn makeup tutorial I did last year based on the very first released photo back in my bio for now! Go watch and laugh at how many face tattoos I missed! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Also shout out to my wonderful friend Kaleb for modeling his back side as the joker in this picture! He's currently recovering from a surgery right now so send some zombae love his way! @ambiguous_k โค๏ธ

Her look was so convincing that DC Live Feed (a fan account for DC Comics fans) unknowingly tweeted the photo as a leaked picture from the new film. Mykie and her Joker partner-in-crime (her friend, Kaleb), perfected the look after Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn guise was first released in 2015. The debate over whether the picture was real or not shows just how talented herย makeupย work is.

But don’t let Mykie’s stunning beauty deceive you. Since Mykie stirred the debate last year she hasn’t stopped, and nowadays her Instagram is crawling with brilliantly horrific works of art. As a self-taught makeup artist, she has gained national attention for her impressive (which is an understatement) makeup work. She has 1.2 million Instagram followers and 1.7 million YouTube subscribers.

Check out one of her makeup tutorials here:

Mykie has continued to work on her stellar makeup skills, along with theย L.A. special effects team known as Glam & Gore. Her Youtube channel describes her work as:

“The swiss army knife of makeup tutorials. Beauty. Special Effects. Avant garde. Industry advice. Products. Foundational teaching. There is something here for everyone, and if you hate makeup, I invite you to at least laugh at my strange face.”

Besides the illustrious and truly glamorous makeup skills that every girl dies to posses, Mykie’s ย attention to detail includes graphic and gory versions of Disney princesses:

Cinderella

Ariel

Beauty

or Beast?

Rapunzel

Snow White

Sleeping Beauty

Elsa

I'm so excited to FINALLY announce the Dark Disney Princess series & your reaction to the announcement has been so exciting that I wanted to give you a little more info on it! After I did the frostbite twist on Frozen's Elsa in July of 2014, I started thinking about doing a whole series of similar looks with Disney Princesses. Putting a dark twist on Disney isn't anything new,you can find tons of artwork from long ago depicting some badass gruesome princesses,(heck a lot of the Disney movies came from Brothers Grimm's fairy tales to begin with) but I had so much fun doing a dark Elsa and that's what made me want to do a whole series. I started working on them in December of 2014 and have had to put them on hold several times for things like the Face Awards and Halloween, and other makeup looks and series with this theme have been done since that are awesome! This will be my own interpretations of the dark side of Disney. ๐Ÿ™‚ And they will start coming out after the social media series is done! (Next video in that series is almost ready!) I can't WAIT to show you what to me has been the ultimate mix of glam & gore! โ˜บ๏ธ

Clearly, Mykie isn’t only confined to gorifying Disney princesses. Her other elaborate horror makeup is to die for and is an incredible inspiration for the upcoming Halloween season.
